The BEST Cheese Ball Recipe

This might be my most favorite cheese ball recipe of all-time. The recipe is from a family friend and my Mom has been making it during the holidays for as long as I can remember. I could literally eat the whole thing myself! Not only is it crazy good, but it is also super easy to make. You probably have everything in your refrigerator to whip this up right now for a New Year’s Eve party!

How to Make the Best Cheese Roll

As I said, this is very easy to make. Mix together cheddar cheese, cream cheese, dry mustard, garlic powder, tabasco, Worcestershire, and mayonnaise. Shape into a roll.
Combine chili powder and paprika. Roll the cheese log in chili powder mixture to coat outside of cheese roll. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • I like to make one big log, but you could also split it into two rolls or balls if you prefer.
  • You can use any shredded cheese you prefer in place of the cheddar cheese. Smoked gouda would be delicious!
  • You can use low-fat cream cheese if you prefer.
  • If you aren’t a fan of mayonnaise, you can substitute sour cream.
  • Is this Cheese Ball spicy? Not at all. If you are worried about they heat, feel free to omit Tabasco and roll the cheese ball in pecans.
  • This cheese ball will keep about 2 weeks tightly wrapped in the refrigerator.
  • Is this Cheese Roll gluten-free? Yes! Use a gluten-free Worcestershire sauce such as Lea & Perrins.
  • Is this Cheese Roll low-carb & keto-friendly? There is 1 gram of sugar and 1 gram of carbs in each teaspoon of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce. There are only 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce in this recipe. If you want to minimize the carbs you can cut the Worcestershire in half or omit it altogether.

What to Serve with a Cheese Ball

Serve the cheese ball with your favorite crackers. I like Sociables and Wheat Thins. Serve this with some veggie slices if are looking for gluten-free/low-carb/keto-friendly options. As I said, I absolutely LOVE this cheese ball recipe. It is a MUST for my holiday snacking.
